29 CFR 1910.23(c)(3): Regardless of height, open-sided floors, walkways, platforms, or runways above or adjacent to dangerous equipment, pickling or galvanizing tanks, degreasing units, and similar hazards were not guarded with a standard railing and toe board: a. In the hard coat area, the employer did not ensure that employees, working on a platform adjacent to open tanks of dilluted acids for an aluminum harding process, were protected from falling into the tanks with standard guard rails.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices,electronic safety devices, etc: a. In the production area, the employer did not ensure there was guarding in place over rotating parts and shaft of a Worner Swasey number 4. lathe, serial number 1579902.
