29 CFR 1910.147(d)(2): The machine or equipment was not turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment: The employer does not turn off or shut down machine or equipment using procedures established for the machine or equipment. This violation occurred on or about July 18, 2013 and times prior thereto, in the Bottling, Packaging and Shipping area where employees were exposed to caught-in and struck-by hazards when repairing a keg palletizer without the energy sources being isolated. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that each machine or equipment is turned off or shut down using the procedures established for the machine or equipment.

29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: The employer does not conduct a periodic inspection of energy control procedures at least annually. This violation occurred on or about July 18, 2013 and times prior thereto, in the Bottling, Packaging and Shipping Dept. where the employer did not inspect and update the energy control procedures for the keg palletizer at annually. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that periodic inspections of all energy control procedures are conducted at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard are being followed.
