29 CFR 1910.138(a): Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances. (a) Lake County Storage LLC. - The employer did not require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances. The employee was not required to use gloves when cleaning out office area, storage lockers, facility grounds, removing dead rodents and excrement.

29 CFR 1910.141(a)(5): Every enclosed workplace shall be so constructed, equipped, and maintained, so far as reasonably practicable, as to prevent the entrance or harborage of rodents, insects, and other vermin. A continuing and effective extermination program shall be instituted where their presence is detected. (a) Lake County Storage LLC. - An effective extermination program was not instituted where rodents or other vermin were detected. The facility's rodent control program was not effective to prevent mice from entering and multiplying in office and storage areas in the facility.
