29 CFR 1926.405(a)(2)(ii)(I): Flexible cords and cables used for temporary wiring were not protected from damage: (a) In the Hospital, third floor, mechanical room, a flexible electrical cord used to power battery chargers in a movable tool cart was not protected from damage. The flexible electrical cord was draped and wrapped on metal structures such as, strut channels and metal pipes and was attached to the movable cart. (b) In the Hospital, first floor, center section, protection was not provided to avoid damage to a flexible electrical cord used for temporary wiring which passed through a doorway. There were several flexible electrical cords draped and wrapped on metal structures such as, strut channels and metal pipes. (c) In the Hospital basement, protection was not provided to avoid damage to a flexible electrical cord used for temporary wiring which passed through a doorway leading in to room BP50. The flexible cord was draped and wrapped on metal structures such as, strut channels and metal pipes. The citation is being proposed under OSHAs multi-employer worksite policy (CPL 2-0.124) to Turner Construction Company Inc. as the Controlling employer.
