29 CFR 1910.23(a)(9): Every floor hole into which persons cannot accidentally walk (on account of fixed machinery, equipment, or walls) was not protected by a cover that leaves no openings more than 1 inch wide. The cover shall be securely held in place to prevent tools or materials from falling through. a. On or about 07/31/2013, Point Pleasant Resort, 6600 Estate Smith Bay, St Thomas - Laundry area: Employees worked and walked by a floor hole that was not protected by a cover exposing them to trips and fall hazards. Note: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance. Please disregard the abatement date.
