29 CFR 1926.300(b)(3): "Types of guarding." One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are - barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc.  Jobsite: On, or about, 08/15/2013 an employee was operating the Kobalt sliding compound miter saw and was not protected from the rotating blade in that the blade guard was not installed.

29 CFR 1926.451(b)(5)(ii): The end of a platform greater than 10 feet in length extended over its support more than 18 inches and the platform was not designed and installed so that the cantilevered portion of the platform is able to support employees without tipping, or has guardrails which block employee access to the cantilivered end.  Jobsite:  On, or about, 08/15/2013 the employer did not ensure each platform greater than 10 feet in length did not extend over its support more than 18 inches.

29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet above a lower level were not protected from falling to that lower level.  Jobsite: On, or about, 08/15/2013 an employee was performing construction activities from the Alum-a-Pole scaffold approximately 12 feet from the lower level and was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.
