29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): "Residential construction." Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure. a. On or about June 21, 2013, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing material handling operations on the second floor loft were exposed to falls of approximately twenty (20') feet due to lack of fall protection. b. On or about June 21, 2013, at the above addressed jobsite, employees performing residential construction operations next to window openings on the second floor, approximately twenty (20) feet above the ground, were not protected from falling, thereby exposing the employees to fall hazards.
