29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. At the location of 3675 N. Maize Rd. in Wichita, KS. Employees engaged in applying flashing cover onto the parapet walls were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 16 feet from the roofs edge to the ground below. The employees were exposed in that a fall protection system was not in place to keep them from falling.
