29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): A continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (n) was not instituted when employee noise exposures equaled or exceeded an 8 hour time weighted average sound level (TWA) of 85 dBA: a. On or about September 25, 2013, the chipper operator was exposed to continuous noise levels at 84.4% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 301 minute sample period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 179 minutes not sampled. b. On or about September 25, 2013, the first grinder operator was exposed to continuous noise levels at 87.3% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 306 minute sample period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 174 minutes not sampled. c. On or about September 25, 2013, the second grinder operator was exposed to continuous noise levels at 79.6% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 353 minute sample period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 127 minutes not sampled. d. On or about September 25, 2013, the raw room #1 supervisor was exposed to continuous noise levels at 77.5% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 321 minute sample period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 159 minutes not sampled. e. On or about September 25, 2013, the gyro cutting area operator was exposed to continuous noise levels at 72.2% of the permissible daily exposure (8-hour, time-weighted average sound level of 85 dbA or equivalently, a dose of 50 percent), during the 367 minute sample period. Exposure calculations include a zero increment for the 113 minutes not sampled.
