29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(c). (a) Employees were working in an nearly vertical excavation at S. 83rd St. & W. Grant St. which was approximately 7 1/2 feet deep and the employer did not ensure that employees were protected from cave-ins. The Mainline Sewer & Water Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.652(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number313529521, citation number 01, item number 01 and was affirmed as a final order on December 2, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at N. Morris Blvd. & E. Capitol Dr. in Shorewood, WI 53211.
