29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface having an unprotected side or edge which was six or more feet (1.8m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) On or about September 5, 2013, at a job site located at 5974 N Saline Kansas City, MO 64151., Employees in elavated patio deck, were exposed to serious injuries, in that the unprotected sides and edges of the elevated work area was not provided with guardrails or any other means of fall protection. The employees were exposed to an approx. 12 to 13 ft fall hazard to the concrete surfaces below. (b) On or about September 5, 2013, at a job site located at 5974 N Saline Kansas City, MO 64151., Employees in future living room area, were exposed to serious injuries, in that the unprotected sides of the spiral stair case was not provided with guardrails . The employees were exposed to an approx. 8 to 10 ft fall hazard to the concrete basement surfaces below.
