29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): Periodic inspection. Complete inspections of the crane shall be performed at intervals as generally defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii)(b) of this section, depending upon its activity, severity of service, and environment, or as specifically indicated below. These inspections shall include the requirements of paragraph (j)(2) of this section and in addition, the following items. (a) Facility - On or about September 05, 2013 the 5 ton and a 7 1/2 ton overhead cranes have not been periodically inspected in the last 12 months.

29 CFR 1910.219(f)(3): Sprockets and chains. All sprocket wheels and chains shall be enclosed unless they are more than seven (7) feet above the floor or platform. Where the drive extends over other machine or working areas, protection against falling shall be provided. This subparagraph does not apply to manually operated sprockets. (a) Facility - On or about September 05, 2013 an employee operated a Pacific 375 Shear Press. The guard that covers the chain and sprocket wheels was missing.
