29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Machine guarding was not provided to protect operators and other employees from hazards created by in-running nip points, rotating parts and/or flying chips: a. 1 Wingfoot Way, Social Circle, GA (Re-Tread Area/Flat Press Curing Area on Line 1) - Employees were exposed to caught-in and burn hazards. Employees are working and walking within close proximity to the moving compress/curing mold which is heated up to approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The employer failed to ensure employees were protected from hazards associated with curing molds, on or about 09/12/13. b. 1 Wingfoot Way, Social Circle, GA (Re-Tread Area/Flat Press Curing Area on Line 2) - Employees were exposed to caught-in and burn hazards. Employees are working and walking within close proximity to the moving compress/curing mold which is heated up to approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The employer failed to ensure employees were protected from hazards associated with curing molds, on or about 09/12/13.

Employees are standing on one of the footer/pedestal approximately 2ft. from ground level; while feeding the rubber through the feed roller, having their feet directly next to the unguarded mesh point gear, on or about 09/12/13.
