29 CFR 1926.1434(a): Modifications or additions which affect the capacity or safe operation of the equipment were not prohibited except where the requirements of paragraphs (a)(1), (a)(2), (a)(3), (a)(4), or (a)(5) of this section were met: On or about 09/18/2013, at the above addressed location, the employer reduced the capacity of the lifting block by placing a scrap piece of wire rope in the wire rope clip to make it tight exposing employees to the potential of the loss of a suspended load. PLEASE NOTE: CERTIFICATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
