29 CFR 1926.503(a)(2)(iii): The employer did not assure that each employee had been trained, as necessary, by a competent person qualified in the use and operation of guardrail systems, personal fall arrest systems, safety net systems, warning line systems, safety monitoring systems, controlled access zones, and other protection to be used: a) Residential jobsite: On September 23, 2013 and at times prior thereto employees did not recognize or acknowledge the potential hazards of performing roofing activities at heights greater than 6 feet without a fall protection system in place. Employees were not familiar with actions or precautions that could be taken to minimize or eliminate the hazards. Note) Abatement certification IS required for this item.
