JOBSITE:  The Lull Highlander Forklift truck, Model 844C-42 was not operated as defined in ANSI B56.1-1969, Safety Standards for Powered Industrial Trucks when:    1. Employee performing measuring of a vertical wooden post worked underneath a 20 ft long wooden girder partially supported by the Lull Highlander forklift and the employee was exposed to the hazard of being struck by a falling load.  ANSI B56.1-1969, Section 6, 603, paragraph B.    2. A 20 ft long wooden girder partially supported by a Lull Forklift truck was not supported in a stable and safely arranged manner, whille an employee working under the load was exposed to the hazard of being struck by the falling load.  ANSI B56.1-1969, Section 6, 605, paragraph A.    On or about 10/3/13, an employee was measuring a piece of wood to be used as a vertical support for a 20 ft long wooden girder, was struck by the wooden girder when the Lull Forklift operator raised the 20 ft long wooden girder and at one end it popped from its position and the other end fell on the employee.  The employee sustained a severe laceration to his head and both bones in his right lower leg were broken.
