29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Hotel construction: On October 8, 2013 and at times prior, as the controlling contractor, Quest Development & Construction did not ensure that its sub-contractor, Ladis Construction, protected their employees in that employees were exposed to a fall of more than 30 feet to the ground below while framing and setting roof trusses on a 3 story hotel under construction. QUEST CONSTRUCTION WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THEIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 313623548, CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 001 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON OCTOBER 5, 2009 WITH RESPECT TO A WORKPLACE LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF 6th AVE SE AND WASHINGTON ST. ABERDEEN, SD 57401
