OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a crushing/struck by hazard from the steel/metal starage racks in the facility not being anchored to the floor: (a) 10 Greenfield Rd South Deerfield, MA: On or about October 8, 2013 a steel storage rack used to store flat pack furniture pieces were not anchored to the floor, nor did the support vertical railings actually touch the floor for all supports. One feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard would be to follow the installation instructions and the ANSI standard MH 16-1-2004 referencing the anchoring of storage racks.
