29 CFR 1910.254(d)(9)(iii): Cables with damaged insulation or exposed bare conductors were not replaced: (a) GARAGE BAY - Employees used a Miller Shopmate 300DX welder while the insulation on the weld leads contained multiple areas where the insulation was damaged, exposing the bare conductors. The employer attempted to repair the weld leads by wrapping black electrical tape around the cable, thereby exposing employees to electrical shock injuries, on or about November 1, 2013. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
