29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator is competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l): Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards and the employer failed to ensure, through evaluation, that each forklift operator was competent to operate the trucks safely when forklift operators had been previously trained on similar equipment, by former employers. Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of29 CFR 1903.19(c).
