29 CFR 1926.451(f)(3): Scaffolds and scaffold components were not inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift, and after any occurrence which could affect a scaffold's structural integrity. The employer does not ensure that scaffolds and scaffold components are inspected before use by employees. This violation occurred on or about October 22, 2013, when an employee was exposed to a fall hazard while working from a scissor lift that was not inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all scaffolds and scaffold components are inspected for visible defects by a competent person before each work shift.
