29 CFR 1910.213(c)(1): Circular handfed ripsaw(s) were not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut:                                                          a) For the facility at 666 49th St., Saint Petersburg, FL 33707, as observed on or about 11/08/2013,  employees used a handfed table saw with an unguarded blade. Employees were exposed to potential laceration or amputation hazards.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(2):  Hand-fed circular ripsaw(s) were not furnished with a spreader to prevent material from squeezing the saw or being thrown back on the operator:    a) For the facility at 666 49th St., Saint Petersburg, FL 33707, as observed on or about 11/08/2013, employees used a hand fed table saw without a spreader to rip cut and cross cut wood pieces of various dimensions.

29 CFR 1910.213(c)(3):  Hand-fed ripsaw(s) did not have non kickback fingers or dogs so located as to oppose the thrust or tendency of the saw to pick up the material or to throw it back toward the operator:                                                     a) For the facility at 666 49th St., Saint Petersburg, FL 33707,  as observed on or about 11/08/2013: a table saw was used for rip cutting of wood that was hand fed. The table saw did not have anti-kickback fingers to protect employees from having material being thrown back at them.

29 CFR 1910.213(s)(6):  Cleanliness around working machinery was not maintained to prevent fire hazards and ensure the effective functioning of guards:    a) For the facility at 666 49th St., Saint Petersburg, FL 33707, as observed on or about 11/08/2013,  wood dust and chips had accumulated on and near the saw motor, under the saw, and on electrical components of the saw. The wood dust accumulation was measured to be over 2 inches deep and was a fire hazard.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws:    For the facility at 666 49th St., Saint Petersburg, FL 33707,  as observed on or about 11/08/2013:    a) A power cord for the feeder motor on the Rockford table saw had its outer insulation damaged such that strain was placed on its inner conductors. b) The power cord for the Rockford saw motor had outer insulation damage where it connected to the motor placing strain on the inner conductors.
