29 CFR 1910.303(a): The conductors and/or equipment required or permitted by this subpart were not approved: (a) TrueCheck, Inc., 9500 I-76 Service Road, Henderson, CO: The employer had not ensured custom made electrical "by pass" jumpers used to exchange energized electrical meters were approved for use by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). Abatement Note: The following quoted text was selected from an Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) standard interpretation letter dated August 24, 1993 to the Philadelphia Electric Company and may be used to comply with 29 CFR 1910.303(a). "Custom made equipment which is designed, fabricated for, and intended for use by a particular customer does not have to be approved if it is determined to be safe for its intended use by the manufacturer. The determination must be made on the basis of test data that the employer keeps and makes available to the Assistant Secretary of Labor for OSHA." Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation are required for this item (See enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
