Employees were exposed to skin irritation and respiratory hazards related to cleaning products, which were used on an as needed basis to clean the rollers and heads of the HD, Fusion, and Fabri UV Printers.

29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes: a) Optima Graphics, Inc. @ 1540 Fenton Court, Fenton, MO 63026: On and before November 7, 2013, the employer did not select appropriate hand protection for job tasks that involved cleaning the printer roller on the Fusion Printer. Employees utilized nitrile gloves that were suspect to breakthrough after prolonged contact with Roll Conditioner. This condition exposed employees to skin irritation.

Employees inside the Print Room voluntarily wore N95, filtering face pieces manufactured by MSA and 3M for protection against vapors present during solvent application to the Fusion, Fabri Vu and HD Printers.
