29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Eye and face protective equipment were not used when machines or operations presented potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:  a.  On or about November 12, 2013, on the 5:12 pitch roof, employees using a pneumatic nailer to install shingles were not wearing safety glasses, exposing themselves to eye injuries.

Coastal Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 911941, Serious citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on July 9, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at 714 Stockton Street, Jacksonville, FL.     Coastal Roofing, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 678258, Serious citation number 01, item number 001 and was affirmed as a final order on December 18, 2012, with respect to a workplace located at 4276 Summerton Oaks Circle, Jacksonville, FL.    29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501(b):     a.  On or about November 12, 2013, on the 5:12 pitch roof, employees installing roofing materials were not protected from a 20 feet fall hazard by the use a fall protection system.
