29 CFR 1910.1030(d)(4)(iii)(A)(1): Contaminated sharps were not discarded immediately or as soon as feasible in containers that are described in sections (i) through (iv) of this section: (a) On or about December 2, 2013, for the employee who sustained a needlestick from a Jelco pro 22-gauge 1-1/2 inch IM needle in the Birthing Unit of Essentia Health located at 3000 32nd Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota. (b) On or about January 1, 2014, for the employee who sustained a needlestick from a BD Autoshield Duo Insulin Pen (0.3mm x 5mm, 30-gauge x 3/16") in the Med/Surg Unit of Essentia Health located at 3000 32nd Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota. (c) On or about January 22, 2014, for the employee who sustained a needlestick from a Jeleo 21-gauge hollow hypodermic needle that was left uncapped and laying nearby while getting an arterial line on a patient in the Operating Room at Essentia Health located at 3000 32nd Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota. (d) On or about January 28, 2014, for the employee who sustained a needlestick from a Braun 20-gauge x 1" Safety IV Catheter that was left uncapped and laying nearby in the Radiology Department of Essentia Health located at 3000 32nd Avenue South in Fargo, North Dakota.
