29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer failed to properly guard equipment to prevent injuries such as amputations, fractures, dislocation of bones and lacerations when operating the equipment listed below. 1. Bag Machine. Triangle model L6CF serial number DN110075. The front bagging and sealing section of the machine was not guarded. 2. Day Mixer model 006 serial number 8774 had an interlock that was not functioning. The safety device was broken and missing components. 3. American Process Systems Mixer had an interlock that was not functioning. The safety device was broken and missing components. Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
