29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) On or about November 13, 2013 and times prior in the Jig area: The employer failed to ensure the point of operation on the horizontal band saw was protected on the unused portion of the blade. b) On or about November 13, 2013 and times prior in the Jig area: The employer failed to ensure the point of operation on the drill press was guarded to prevent material from striking the employee. c) On or about November 13, 2013 and times prior in the Jig area: The employer failed to ensure the point of operation on the CNC was guarded to prevent material from striking the employee. d) On or about November 13, 2013 and times prior in the Jig area: The employer failed to ensure the point of operation on the lathe was guarded to prevent material from striking the employee. e) On or about November 13, 2013 and times prior the hydraulic press (threader head final inspection): The employer failed to ensure both of the two hand trips worked properly to prevent employee from making contact with the point of operation with his free hand.
