29 CFR 1910.243(b)(2): Airhose and hose connections used for conducting compressed air to utilization equipment was not designed for the pressure and service to which they were subjected. The employer did not ensure that air hose used for pneumatic tools connected to air manifold at prep area near support beam 18 was repaired accordingly to manufactures recommendations. The attached air hose fitting was secured by a worm-driven water hose clamp which was not designed for high pressure compressed hose usage, thereby exposing the employees struck-by hazards associated to hose whipping action.
