29 CFR 1910.135(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee wear a protective helmet when working in areas where there is a potential for injury to the head from falling objects:   Marlboro Shopping Plaza, 166 Rt. 9 North: The employer, Glander Electric Co., Inc., did not ensure that each employee exposed to potential for head injury from falling objects wear a protective helmet.  As such, an employee working to straighten a lighting post was injured when the light fixture broke, fell and struck him in the unprotected head.  Observed on or about 11/14/2013.    NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
