29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): The employer did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees had not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area: a) Nursing School Building - Employees were not informed about the hazards of the chemicals in use during the building stairwell restoration and roof replacement. Employees had potential exposure to cleaning chemicals, caulk vapors, and roofing adhesive vapors. These chemicals included: Sonolastic NP 1 (Sensitizer, irritant, potential carcinogen), Carlisle Syn Tec Weathered Membrane Cleaner (CNS depression, headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue), Carlisle Syn Tec Sure-Weld (throat irritation), and Jelmar CLR (respiratory irritation).
