29 CFR 1926.100(a): Employees working in areas where there was a possible danger of head injury from impact, or falling or flying objects, or from electrical shock and burns, were not protected by protective helmets.     a) 1-69 Kiwanis Blvd, Hazleton, PA; An employee was working in an 8 foot 6 inch deep excavation without the use of a hardhat while assisting the excavation operator in setting a 6 foot manhole. Without a hardhat the employee was exposed to a potential struck by hazard from the manhole or dirt falling from the sidewall of the excavation, on or about 12/03/2013.    b) 1-69 Kiwanis Blvd, Hazleton, PA; An employee was hooking up steel chains to a 6 foot manhole and an excavator bucket without the use of a hardhat. Without a hardhat the employee was exposed to a potential struck by hazard from the steel chains or excavator bucket, on or about 12/03/2013.    Abatement Certification Required
