OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing for likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards: (a) Attitash Mountain - Employees were exposed to a fall hazard where loose clothing and equipment was not prevented. On or about 11/24/13, an employees loose equipment was entangled on the chairlift he was riding. This condition caused the employee to be suspended from the chairlift until his wrench and attachment broke, causing him to fall approximately 35 feet to the ground. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to follow the Warnings indicated on the Chair Lift which stated "Check for loose clothing and equipment".
