29 CFR 1910.213(r)(4): Suitable guard(s) were not provided to reduce to a minimum the hazard due to the point of operation:  (a)  Sawmill area:  The chop saw with a 30 inch blade used to cut 1 3/16 inch to 1 1/4 inch pieces of wood was not provided with a guard that prevented the entry of employees hands into the point of operation.  When making a cut, the employees' hand comes within 5 1/2 inches of the rotating blade, as determined on December 4, 2013.     ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM.

29 CFR 1910.265(c)(20)(iii):   Machine(s) that create dust, shavings, chips, or slivers were not equipped with an exhaust or conveyor system located and adjusted to remove the maximum amount of refuse from the point of operation and immediate vicinity:  (a)  Sawmill:  The Edger and Chop Saw were not equipped with a collection system to remove combustible saw dust and shavings that had accumulated on, under and along the side of the equipment.  A pile of saw dust, approximately 4 foot high, had piled up on and around the equipment, as observed on December 4, 2013.     ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ITEM
