29 CFR 1910.334(a)(2)(i): Portable cord and plug connected equipment and flexible cord sets (extension cords) were not visually inspected before use on any shift for external defects (such as loose parts, deformed and missing pins, or damage to outer jacket or insulation) and for evidence of possible internal damage (such as pinched or crushed outer jacket): In the pattern shop, electrical cords had not been inspected, exposing employees to a potential fire and electrical shock hazard in the following two instances: 1) Two electrical cables used as power drops for a power saw and band saw had excessive cracking and no strain relief. 2) An extension cord, which powered a table saw, had a wire sheathing that had pulled away from its attachment plug.
