29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail: a) North Side of the Building - A company owner and a tile worker were observed entering the building using the job made stairs which was not equipped with a standard handrail exposing them to a 5 ½ foot fall hazard, on or about 12/03/13. b) Between the 1st and 2nd Floors, 2nd and 3rd Floors - A company owner and a tile worker were using the stairs which was not equipped with a standard handrail exposing them to a 10 foot fall hazard, on or about 12/03/13. c) Basement Unit Stairs - A company owner and a tile worker were observed entering the basement unit using the permanent stairs which was not equipped with a standard handrail exposing them to a 3 ½ foot fall hazard, on or about 12/03/13. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
