29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area shall be protected from falling 6 feet (1.8 m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems. a. On or about December 5, 2013, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee removing material from the roof was exposed to falls of approximately twenty-five (25') feet created by the presence of unprotected sides, thereby exposing the employee to the hazards associated with falls.
