29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels are not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.                   Employees installing shingles on a commercial building roof are not protected from falling to lower levels by an adequate protective system.        a. On or about December 5, 2013, employees were exposed to fall hazards.    The employer does not protect each employee on the roof by ensuring that all employees are tied off to their lanyards or by using other protective systems. This violation was observed at the 5900 block of McKee Road in Madison WI. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that all his employees are tied off and protected from falling to lower levels at all times while being exposed to a fall hazard.    Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, the employer must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including an explanation of how these steps protect its employees from falls. Diaz Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard CFR 1926.501(b)(13) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313137929, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/09/2011, with respect to a workplace located at Town Hall Road, Sun Prairie, WI 53590.    Diaz Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313134215, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/27/2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1619 Center Street, Black Earth, WI 53515.    Diaz Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard ot its equivalent standard CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313139322, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/20/2009, with respect to a workplace located at 109 Main Street, Monticello, WI 53570.    Diaz Roofing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 310761895, citation numebr 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 06/18/2007, with respect to a workplace located at 1190 Goede Road, Edgerton, WI 53534.
