29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Point of operation guarding was missing in the following instances: 1) In the maintenance area, the ENCO Mill was missing a point of operation guard, exposing employees to a caught in hazard. 2) In the shop area, the Niagra Power Shear, was missing guarding on the back side of the shear, exposing employees to an amputation hazard.
