Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:     The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to combustible aluminum dust explosion, deflagration, or other fire hazards while working at or near indoor dry-type dust collection systems which were not located, designed, or installed to prevent or minimize employee exposure in the event of an internal deflagration:       On or about December 17, 2013:       (a) Small cast grinding area: Two dry-type cyclonic dust collectors (Donaldson Torit model 19) used to collect aluminum particulate from belt grinding operations were located indoors and lacked a means of explosion protection such as deflagration venting.      (b) Large cast grinding area: A dry-type cyclonic dust collector (Donaldson Torit model 20) used to collect aluminum particulate from belt grinding operations was located indoors and  lacked a means of explosion protection such as deflagration venting.    Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
