OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that repair technicians were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while working adjacent to and under vehicles raised by automotive lifts while the lift had not been lowered onto the locking latches.      (a) Service Area: On December 18, 2013 and at times prior, two workers were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards where two Rotary Model SL212N510 automotive lifts were several inches above the locking latches while workers performed maintenance adjacent to and under the elevated vehicle.    Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
