On or about November 7, 2013, the employer did not ensure that employees performing framing operations wore eye protection while operating power tools such as a pneumatic nail gun and a circular saw. Employees were exposed to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR 1926.404(f)(6): Grounding path. The path to ground from circuits, equipment, and enclosures shall be permanent and continuous. Coursey Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA: On or about November 7, 2013, the electrical power cord to a Sears air compressor was missing the ground prong (GFCI not present). Connector wires was attached to the prongs of the cord, exposing the employees to an electric shock hazard.

If used as permitted in paragraphs (g)(1)(i)(C), (g)(1)(i)(F), or (g)(1)(i)(H) of this section, the flexible cord shall be equipped with an attachment plug and shall be energized from a receptacle outlet. Coursey Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA: On or about November 7, 2013, the employer failed to ensure that the power cords to a Sears air compressor and a Paslodge portable generator were energized from a receptacle outlet. Connector wires were fasten to the receptacle at the power pole and attached to the prongs on the power cords. Employees were exposed to an electric shock hazard.
