29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 paragraph (b) or (c) of this section.     a) Near 2794 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan AL; On or about December 18, 2013 the employer exposed employees to cave-in hazards in that employees were allowed to work inside of a trench measuring 6.6 feet deep, 15 feet wide, and 17 feet in length that was dug in class "c" soil. The employer had not complied with the standard in that employees were not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system and the excavation was sloped at an angle steeper than one and one-half horizontal to one vertical (thirty-four degrees measured to the horizontal) on all sides.
