29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards: The employer does not guard open sided floors that are four feet or more above an adjacent floor or ground. This violation occurred on or about December 20, 2013, in the storage area of a clothing retail store where employees were exposed to fall hazard when working on a loft that had an open-sided floor without a standard railing. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that open-sided floors or platforms are guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards.

29 CFR 1910.305(b)(2)(i): Each outlet box in completed installations did not have a cover, faceplate, or fixture canopy. The employer does not ensure that outlet boxes in completed installations has a cover. This violation occurred on or about December 20, 2013, in the backroom storage area of the retail shop near the fixed ladder, where an an extension cord was plugged into a 110V electrical outlet without the outlet box being covered. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all outlet baxes have a cover, faceplate or fixture canopy.
