29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been  taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition(s)    a)  Forklifts used throughout Union Compress Warehouse Areas  On or about December 26. 2013, employees were allowed to operate forklifts with defective or non-operational components such as a non-functioning  horn, an empty mounted fire extinguisher, and a broken light , which were not taken out of service, exposing employees to struck-by and fire hazards.      1.  Warehouse  9  -  Forklift S/N 991 Horn was not functioning  2.  Warehouse  10 - Forklift S/N 108 Mounted fire extinguisher was discharged   3.  Warehouse  11 - Forklift S/N 328 Broken Light      ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
