Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  (a) Roof - On or about January 9, 2014 seven employees were exposed to a fall hazard when removing and installing weatherproofing material on a 5:12 pitch roof with unprotected sides which were 13 feet 3 inches above floor level. Employees were not protected from falling to a lower level by the use of personal fall arrest system, safety net system or guardrail system.
