29 CFR 1910.215(b)(3): Bench and/or floor stand grinding machinery had angular exposure of the grinding wheel periphery and sides for safety guard(s) which exceeded 125 degrees where the work required contact with the wheel below the horizontal plane of the spindle: (a) Foundry building, West wall: Employees were exposed to rotating parts hazards when using the floor stand grinding machine for off-hand grinding of parts, removing rough edges. The floor stand grinding machine was not equipped with adequate guarding of the left and right stones. More than 180 degrees of the grinding wheel periphery and sides were exposed.

29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: (a) Foundry building, West wall: Employees were exposed to being caught by the rotating grinding stones of "The Production Equipment Co." pedestal grinder which did not have a tongue guards and to being struck by flying debris in the event of grinding stone failure. The distance between the stone and the metal above the wheel was greater then 1/4 inch.
