29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, personal fall arrest system, or other approved alternative fall protection system: (a) Rivas Construction at 3100 Pearl Parkway, Boulder, CO 80301: On December 19, 2013 the exposing employer did not ensure that employees were protected from injury, in that two employees framing at the edge on the east end of building B were not utilizing fall protection. Each employee wore a fall harness; however, their harness was not attached to the lanyard of the fall protection system. A parapet ranging from 20 inches to 31 inches was installed. This condition exposed the employees to a fall of approximately 30 feet. (b) Rivas Construction at 3100 Pearl Parkway, Boulder, CO 80301: On December 19, 2013 the exposing employer did not ensure that employees were protected from injury, in that one employee framing at the edge on the west end of building B was not utilizing fall protection. The employee wore a fall harness; however, the harness was not attached to the lanyard of the fall protection system. A parapet ranging from 20 inches to 31 inches was installed. This condition exposed the employee to a fall of approximately 30 feet.
