29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws:  (a)  In the paint booth:  On January 9, 2014 and at times prior to; the employer failed to ensure that cables were effectively protected in that pull was being directly transmitted to the cable from a borken conduit, exposing employees to an explosion hazard in an environment that had the potential to be flammable.

29 CFR 1910.134(f)(1): The employer did not ensure that employee(s) required to use a tight-fitting facepiece respirator passed the appropriate qualitative fit test (QLFT) or quantitative fit test (QNFT):  (a)   In the Paint Booth:  On January 9, 2014 and at times prior to; the employer failed to provide fit testing for employees required to wear respirators, exposing those employees to respiratory disease.  The employer, Pitts enterprises, Inc. dba Dorsey Trailer, was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard CFR 29; 1910.134(f)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314601733, citation number 2, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on December 17, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1315 Hickman Ave., Elba, Al.

29 CFR 1910.307(c)(2)(i): Equipment in hazardous (classified) location(s) was not approved for the ignitable or combustible properties of the specific gas, vapor, dust, or fiber that was or could be present:  (a)  In the paint booth:  On January 9, 2014 and at times prior to; the employer failed to ensure that the paint booth where flammable paint was being used, was free of electrical devices that were not approved for use in areas containing or having the potential of containing a flammable atmosphere in that the employer did not ensure that the receptacle in the paint booth was not explosion proof.  The Pitts Enterprises, Inc. dba Dorsey Trailer was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.307(c)(2)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314601733, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on December 17, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 1315 Hickman Ave., Elba, AL.
