29 CFR 1926.502(b)(2)(i): Midrails were not installed at a height midway between the top edge if the guardrail system and the walking/working level. (a) Skycastle Construction, 2355 Cragmoor Rd., Boulder, CO 80305: On and before January 13, 2014, as the controlling contractor on site, Skycastle did not ensure that subcontractors working in a remodeled home, were protected from falling approximately 9 feet, when the second level landing did not have a midrail installed. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard. (b) Skycastle Construction, 2355 Cragmoor Rd., Boulder, CO 80305: On and before January 13, 2014, as the controlling contractor on site, Skycastle did not ensure that subcontractors working in a remodeled home, were protected from falling in excess of 6 feet when the north and west sides of the house did not have a midrail installed where wall openings were for window installation. This condition exposed employees to a fall hazard. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is not required for this item (see enclosed Abatement-Certification Letter").
